I loved the design of this product and I was looking forward to having a better hose reel.....but I was very dessapointed when it arrived in the mail. It is so small, it cannot accomodate a regular US garden hose. Maybe in Italy where it was made is OK, but not by American standards. Loved the design, very dessapointed of the small size of it.

I only buy 3/4" hoses because I'm on well water. My pressure is fairly high for a well -- 50 - 65 lbs -- as I added a 100 gal tank and cranked up the switch. The Claber quick-connects are only about 5/16" ID. That is less than half the diameter and 3/16 the cross-sectional area of a 3/4" hose. When you put that restrictor in the line, you will seriously reduce the flow rate. If you have high pressure and a small nozzel on the end it won't matter, but if you need to push a lot of water, better stay away from these flow-restrictor connectors.

I purchased this adapter so I could connect a hose to my laundry tub in my garage in order to get warm water. I don't get warm water from my outside water spicket. This is a perfect hose for watering plants. Great for washing the car too. It is compact and really is 25 feet long. You can hook 2 together if you want. I would not use it for watering the lawn as it is smaller capacity and it does recoil.

Customer Review: Inexpensive but OK for occasional use
This is not a heavy-duty hose reel, and I wouldn't recommend it for everyday use or harsh environments. It is made of very lightweight plastic, so you need to put your foot on it when you unreel the hose if you want it to stay put. If you grab the hose and start walking, the reel will want to come with you until the length of connecting hose runs out of room. I wouldn't want to put too much stress on that short length of hose that connects the faucet to the reel -- all of the connections are plastic. Given the price, it works fine for infrequent usage. I haven't owned it long enough to comment on its long-term durability, but so far it is a nice alternative to having an exposed hose lying on my small patio. I live in a moderate climate, so I don't know how it will hold up in extreme cold, heat, or direct sunlight.

I was looking for a hose reel/container for my front yard, one that would conceal the hose yet not take up a huge spot in my garden or be an eyesore. This reel pot did both - looks nice, is small, and reels in hose well. I would recommend holding the pot as you reel in as it is lightweight and tends to tip if you are reeling in a large amount of hose.

The orbit hardware has held up well, stayed leak proof, and makes keeping my acre of property well watered much easier. There are cheaper products on the marker, but I've had problems with leaks which makes watering a real nuisance. I'd rather spend a little more, not have to replace the hardware every year, and most importantly - stay dry while watering the yard.

The hose fittings at both ends of the hose are not the standard American sized fittings to fit onto the faucets that we all have, nor the spray nozzles won't fit unless they are made of plastic in which case you can "strip" them onto the male end of the hose. I went to my local hardware store and purchased hose ends that would fit right. I paid more for them than the hose costed in the first place!!!
